Ricardo Da Silva is a Dance Artist, Choreographer, Spoken Word Artist and Co-Founder/Artistic Director of Just Us Dance Theatre.
Da Silva was born in Angola and raised in East London, he started dancing in secondary school from which he joined East London Dance Youth Company and Boy Blue Entertainment. Da Silva is a 3rd year student at London Contemporary Dance School studying BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance.
As a theatre performer his national and international experience is extensive, Da Silva has recently worked with Soweto Kinch and Jonzi D on The Legend of Mike Smith, In 2012 he was appointed a Street Stories Choreographer/Group Leader/Performer working with the Royal Opera House, London and East London Dance. Da Silva performed in Dance Futures (Lightrooms) with Choreography by Wayne McGregor|Random Dance and has danced with Richard Alston Dance Company, Robert Hylton and Frederick Opoku-Addaie. Commercial credits include CBBC’s Alesha Dixon Street Dance Stars Title Sequence.
In order to tackle the issues that surround East London, Da Silva started writing poetry/spoken word and has recently started to present his work with performances at Dance Aid, Live Vibe 2013 and Theatre Royal, Stratford East.
Just Us Dance Theatre are a Greenwich Dance Resident Company.
